My Return: Enchanted Polish February 2013 Brings Me Back

Hello all your dedicated lovelies who follow my blog!  I know I’ve been away for a very long time now, but I think I may finally be making a return.  I got very busy towards the end of last year with working retail during the holidays and never quite found the time (nor the proper weather!) to work on my blog.  I have, however, been getting loads of pretty new polishes to share with you and I’ve had all sorts of big changes in my life.  Ben will be here in a few more months, we filed for a fiancé visa in February and now it’s time to wait for that to be approved.  Then we can get married and start our life together!  I’ve also began working out every day, and I’ve almost finished my first run through of P90X.  I started back in January because I’d like to be slimmed down and in shape for my wedding this summer!  Bride bod, here I come, haha!  I’ll be starting week 12 out of 13 on Sunday, and then going for round two.  So far I’ve managed to lose a little more that 27 pounds, which is very exciting but I still have a long way to go to reach my goal.  I used to be a tiny thing in both height and weight when I rode horses and was in athletics in school, but I’ve really struggled with weight since I was in the later years of high school and college.  I can definitely tell a difference at this point and I’m smaller than I’ve been in years, but reaching my goal is going to take a bit longer.  However, now that the weather is getting back to being beautiful and pleasant, I figured I may have things under control enough to begin blogging again!

It only figures that my return to blogging would share an Enchanted Polish!  I didn’t think about the fact that the polish I’d swatched was a very rare limited edition one until after I’d taken and edited pictures, though.  Please don’t hate me too much!  It may be possible to find someone who snatched up two bottles (like I did, though one was for Drea and has already been claimed ♥) and make a trade though, if you’re as crazy in love with it as I was.  The mystery polish I speak of is Enchanted Polish February 2013!  Chelsea has decided to make a special limited edition polish each month and so far they’ve been lovely holo multichromes, which seems to be her true talent.  I can’t get over how she manages to make so many unique multichromes with that fabulous holo finish, and I think I need ALL of them.  Collect ALL the Enchanteds!  *does a fist pump in the air*  Anyways, what I love about February 2013 is the depth and richness behind it.  This polish flashes from green, to a wine or berry shade, to magenta, orange, and golden shades.  And behind it all, there’s a darkness that tends to lurk around the edges of your nails when the light hits it, giving an almost ombre faded effect.  I love the dark and moody look to this polish!  As with all of my Enchanted polishes, this one applied like a dream, smooth and very self-leveling.  I used one coat of a-england The Knight as a base coat and two coats of February 2012.  I skipped the top coat for now because I badly need to order some more a-england The Shield.  It’s the only one of my topcoats I’ve used so far that doesn’t try to nom up on the holo effect of my polishes, but part of that could be that my other topcoats tend to be of the fast drying variety.  Either way, I don’t think this polish needed it, but I may give it another shot whenever I get my hands on The Shield again!  Enjoy the mass of pictures, I never can resist taking several when I have a color-shifting polish.

So there’s the glory of Enchanted Polish February 2013!  My friend Lyssa recently moved into the same apartment complex and I’ve been trying to get her hooked on my polish obsession…  In her words, Enchanteds are very sparkly!  I think it’s a pretty spot on description, and I’m so darned in love with her work that I snatched up 4 more polishes from Chelsea on her launch for Tuesday.  If you want to pick up some yourself, you can buy Enchanted Polish directly through Chelsea from EnchantedPolish.com, and also sign up to receive newsletters.  She only releases the monthly limited editions here and the newsletter emails notify you of upcoming launches, so it’s pretty fantastic if you’re a nut like I am!  You can also purchase Enchanted Polish at Llarowe, Harlow & Co. and Mei Mei’s Signatures, and follow Chelsea’s Facebook through… well, Facebook.

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend and with luck and a little time I should be able to get back to a regular posting schedule. I missed sharing pretty polish with all of you!  And this weekend, I’ll be insanely busy.  I’m going to see a Matchbox Twenty concert with my lovely Drea and my fabulous Stephanie!  If you guys are lucky, I may share a concert photo or two with my next blog post, haha.  Oh Rob and the boys, I shall see you soon.  ♥  Until next time, take care and stay lacquered! ♥

Boyfriend Picks a Polish: Enchanted Polish Ola Rio

I want to begin today’s blog post by saying that I’m in an absolutely fabulous mood!  This morning I managed to snatch up my polish from the Dollish Polish restock, yay!  Doctor Who inspired colors on my nails will be amaaaaaaazing.  I also had a great evening with friends at the local coffee house yesterday, full of laughter and silliness and jokes among the Heathers.  Seriously, the only way to improve on nights out like that is to have Ben along for the ride…  I can’t wait until he’s here for good!

Speaking of Ben, we’re taking a bit of a break from my Butter London polish love (which will be returning on Monday, seeing as that’s the last day for the sale, since it was extended!) to share a polish he bought for me.  Greatest boyfriend ever!  And add to that the fact that he always picks out really marvelous shades and I’m a spoiled, lucky girl.  Today’s selection is Enchanted Polish Ola Rio, part of her Big City Lights collection of color shifting glitters.  Ola Rio is a multichrome glitter in a clear base that shifts a wide range of colors, from a deep rich purple, to a magenta, hot pink, golden orange, yellow, and a hint of a bright green.  It’s so fabulous!  I felt like I had a phoenix on my fingertips when I wore it, bursting to life in a dramatic flair of colors.  Check out this macro shot to see nearly the full spectrum!

Because Ben polishes are always special to me, I didn’t want to swatch away so much that I used up my bottle, but I also wanted to showcase the look layered over a dark base and when used alone.  Hence, today’s swatches have my accent nail with Ola Rio (4 coats!), and the other nails with a base.  I used one coat of Seche Clear, one coat of a-england Ophelia for the dark base, one coat of Enchanted Polish Ola Rio for the non-accent nails, and a topcoat of Seche Vite.

In the sun…  I like these to show the rich colors!
And the shade…  These are my personal favorites, I love how clear the multichrome shifts show up in this lighting!  I’d recommend viewing these at full size to catch the full details of it. ♥
Once again, Ben picked out a truly fabulous color for my nails!  I squeed a little when I got this in and immediately tried it out.  As usual, Enchanted Polish did not disappoint.  The formula was delightful, with great coverage in one coat and rich vibrant colors.  Surprisingly, Ola Rio is still available for purchase through Llarowe!  Leah Ann will also be receiving a new shipment of Enchanted Polish around November 15th, so keep an eye out for goodies at Llarowe.  Enchanted Polish is also sold at Harlow & Co. and Mei Mei’s Signatures, and she’s recently opened her own shop at EnchantedPolish.com!  This is pretty awesomely exciting because her first restock listed some discontinued beauties, giving you a chance to snatch one up if you missed it before!  You can stalk out her facebook page for updates and to find out about upcoming products and restocks.

Hope you all enjoyed this pretty lacquer!  Also, I’ve been pondering the idea of skipping my indoor polish shots in favor of focusing on photos in prettier lighting, i.e. sunlight and in the shade.  I’d love to hear your thoughts and opinions on this!  Have a great weekend and I’ll be back Monday to continue my Butter London obsession. ♥

A Sinful Delight: Butter London Shag

Ahh, this has been a really fabulous off day for me.  I got to take some swatch shots of an amazing polish Ben picked out for me (I’ll be sharing it Friday, truly stunning goodies on the way!), take a nap like the lazy girl I am, and do a good bit of reading.  I also caught up on TV shows and just generally had a nice quiet Wednesday.  I’m really trying to get the most out of relaxing before we shift into Black Friday mode at work!

As a reminder, today is the last day for the Butter London Friends and Family sale with 30% off and free shipping on orders over $75.  Go to the website and pick up your favorites using the code FRIENDS12 at checkout to take advantage of it, pronto!  I finally placed my order today after shaving off a couple of polishes that I felt I could wait a little longer for, but I was sure to snatch up that stunning holo online exclusive, Fishwife.  Can’t wait to have it here, I’ve been waiting a good bit for that one!

In honor of that lovely sale, I’m sharing another shade from my favorite brand.  Butter London Shag is part of the Fall/Winter 2012 collection, and it’s a rich warm orange-tinted metallic burgundy, as the website describes.  Fallen autumn leaves is also used, which I agree with completely!  But somehow in my weird little brain, the name and color makes me think of that plush, soft carpet…  Mmm.  I got the giggles when I first saw news of this polish over the name, loving the scandal of it all and then completely taken by the color.  I’m pretty sure even Ben was impressed with this one when I was drooling over the swatches online!  One again, the Butter London formula does NOT disappoint.  It flowed easily and smoothly, giving great coverage with a great finish.  For the swatches below I used one coat of Seche Clear, two coats of Butter London Shag, and one coat of Seche Vite.

Indoors…
In the shade (these are my favorites)…
And in the sun!
Once again, Butter London gets rave reviews from me!  I’m loving this color and can’t seem to get enough of their shades…  Hence the box of goodies that should be on their way to me soon, haha!  Don’t forget to swing by the website and pick some new beauties up for yourself, sales are a great time to get the ones you’ve been waiting to buy or pondering.  You’ve still got a few more hours! If you get some, be sure and tell me what made it into your shopping cart, I love to share the Butter London goodness. ♥

AND AND AND…  Friday I’m really excited because it’s another Dollish Polish restock day and I can finally try to get my hands on It’s Bigger on the Inside.  I am OBSESSED with Doctor Who, so I’m going to give you a nice little fan video a friend showed me about Rose and the Doctor (thanks Beth!). Swooooon!  I swear, I’ll die if I miss out on this polish. :(   Wish me luck, guys!

“If I could fall into the sky,
Do you think time would pass me by?”

Edited:  Just wanted to say I just checked on facebook and found out that the sale has been extended to the 11th.  Hooray!

The Sultry Glow of Butter London Knees Up

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!  Life has been very busy and very crazy, but it’s been a lot of fun.  I’ve been spending time with friends, a great deal of it at a really chill coffee house in town.  This is great and awesome, but it also means I’m not home as much to write blog posts.  I’m thinking I may really be getting back to my routine, though…  I’m trying…  I really am!

I wanted to let you all know that there is a sale on my favorite store brand, Butter London!  Just use the FRIENDS12 code when checking out through butterlondon.com and you’ll receive 30% off.  This is a great time to snatch up online or certain store exclusives, so be sure and take advantage of it.  This sale ends Wednesday!  To pump up the Butter London loving, I’m bringing you one of their fabulous shades today.  Butter London Knees Up is a dramatic shimmering red metallic that seems to glow whenever any light hits it.  It’s also amusing because this color seems fitting for what comes to mind when I hear “knees up”.  But rest assured, it’s not a scandalous reference to late night activities with your loved one!  “Knees up” is just British slang for “a drunken party”, according to the Butter London dictionary!  My best friend, Drea, loved this one long before I did.  For some reason I just couldn’t quite get it, though I thought it was pretty.  But really, what was so crazy-insane-I-must-own-this special about Knees Up?  I have to say, I think it’s that stunning glow it has.  Mix that in with Butter London’s amazing formula and you’ve got a winner!  I had no issues with application, it was an absolute dream to work with.  For the swatches below, I used one coat of Seche Clear, two coats of Butter London Knees Up, and one coat of Seche Vite for that high gloss look.

Indoors…
In the shade…
And here’s where it gets magical, the sun shots!  I took so very many, and managed to narrow it down to six pictures.  I know it’s a bit of overkill, but I love watching this color at every angle and wanted to share the amazingness without skimping out!
I love how this polish gives off the look of a velveteen fabric, soft and rich and glowing…  It’s a beautiful deep red and perfect for the upcoming holiday season.  Yes, I know it’s a bit early for Christmas talk but when you work retail, Thanksgiving isn’t really a holiday…  It’s just that day where you sleep odd hours so you can go to your shift for the midnight opening of Black Friday.  Anyways, I’ll cut away my bitter complaints and go dig through the Butter London website to try and narrow down my choices for the sale!  Be sure and let me know what you pick up, I’d love to hear what your favorites are. ♥
